26th Oct 2014: Race day!!

I am thrilled to be able to report back that today’s run went really well!.

With the adrenaline pumping at the start we all set off bang on time at 10:35am. The atmosphere was fantastic and you couldn’t help but be inspired and spured on by the crowds which lined the whole route. I started off probably a little quick, which meant that I paid for it a bit come mile 8 when I reached the seafront:-). That said, I was pleased with my finishing time of 1 hr 17 mins which was a little quicker than I had anticipated all things considered.

For those of you who watched the tv coverage on Channel 5, you may have seen my interview…..it was a real privilege to be given the platform to say a few words about my story and to importantly raise the profile of the beating bowel cancer charity (it comes on around 90 mins into the coverage for those who may have recorded it. I have been promised a copy as well from the organisers which I will post on the website later)…hopefully some of what I said will help others in the ‘same boat’ as me.

THANK-YOU, THANK-YOU, THANK-YOU to everyone who has so kindly donated to date..it is really appreciated by me and all those at beating bowel cancer!.
